Geneva is already very well known as the second trading location in Europe, just after London. In continental Europe it is definitely the major commodities trading platform. For all of these good reasons (and much more), many world-known companies established their major operations in Geneva: Cargill has its EMEA headquarters here, major trade finance banks are all present in Geneva (such as BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole and Credit Suisse). Most recently Louis Dreyfus Commodities decided to locate all its European operations in Geneva.
